LYDIA MARKS: Biography

Lydia Marks, is both a versatile vocalist and electric stage performer, and has graced many stages throughout Las Vegas, New York and Pennsylvania. Current venues include; The Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater, The Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival, Erie’ Jazz & Blues Walk, Billie’s Blues & Jazz Club, Caroline’s on Broadway, The Red Blazer Jazz Club, and The Apollo Theater. In Las Vegas she performed as a featured vocalist with Carl Fontana's Dixieland Jazz Band at the Bourbon Street Casino, and also worked as a featured singer, and opening act for Jerry Seinfeld, Glen Smith and Sandy Hackett. Known for her exceptional ability to perform at a last minutes notice, Lydia was called to substitute for Ruth Buzzi’s role in The Musical "Sagebrush" at the Gold River Resort where she worked opposite Hoyt Axton (The Gremlin’s). In New York she performs regularly at the Chautauqua Institution at the Center for Visual Arts, and also performed at the Chautauqua Amphitheater in her one woman show titled "Broadway Song & Jazz." Lydia was a featured singer at The Apollo Theater and worked at Caroline’s On Broadway in Lisa Lampanelli's "Queen of Mean" show. Ms. Marks also performs regularly as a guest artist teacher for the Pennsylvania Arts in Education Residency Program. Recent residencies include a performance of “The Great Gatsby's Jazz Era Show" at the Blasco Auditorium for THE BIG READ a program sponsored by The National Endowment of The Arts. Lydia's debut CD titled "Lovelight Shining" features an original composition co-written with bassist Harry Jacobson. The CD also features unique solos from Don Rebic, piano, Bruce Johnstone, sax/flute, John Bacon, drums, and Eric Pearson, acoustic guitar, and Harry Jacobson, bass.
